About the doctor's strike.
I hold no brief for the govt, but anybody who tells you that an intern should be paid 206k is just being silly.
In dollar terms, that is more than fully-qualified doctors are paid IN MORE THAN HALF THE WORLD.
And yes, doctors train for 7 years. But architects train for six, and when fully qualified their starting salary with govt is just around 50k!
Interns in other graduate professions barely take home 20k.
Doctors want to join their lawyer colleagues and politicians in extorting unreasonable salaries. No cadre of govt workers, in my humble view, should be paid more than 300k when a messenger, cleaner, guard, etc in the same govt is earning 18k na wanarnda same supermarket.
What we should all be fighting for is the reduction of the salaries of the gluttonous clique that is robbing us blind, not raising other salaries to that level otherwise Kenya will simply collapse.
