You are correct, that curves ( curfew) should be extrapolated ( promagated ) and excel should be at the peak

Excel is a great tool but has so many shortcomings for engineering applications. As an example, try working Fourier series or Laplace transforms with excel and you won't go far. Or basic things like matrices.
