A question on plumbing

Of late,we have been getting very few hours of water supply from kanjo. I have a direct pipe that takes the water to an underground tank for my reserve. Unfortunately, the few hours aren't enough to give me a quantity to last until the next supply.

Now my question:
Along the main pipe before the water gets to the underground tank, I have a tap.
If I connect a pipe to this tap and direct it to the tank as well, will I be getting double the quantity with the two inputs as compared to when am just using one input? And if I added another tap and again put a hosepipe to the tank, would this triple the rate of flow into the tank?

Why are you giving me ideas ? I was thinking of having my pipe with same diameter as supply line would fix half of my water problems.

Why are you laughing?
Does it mean it's impractical? To the contrary, I think it is.
I just tried it with taps from two bathrooms. Wanted to fill two basins. When I use one tap, it took 181 seconds to fill both. When I put two basins under different taps and open both at the same time, it took 111 secs and 123 secs respectively.
@Aviator priss driink some milk priss
