8-4-4 System

Come to think of it. The 8-4-4 curriculum is heavily influenced by the brits with a small B, our colonizers. Compared to any other superior education system in the world, our curriculum is pure bullshit. You get kids as young as 15 in a country such as the US being taught about philosophers while here in our the same bullshit curriculum in existence for over half a century, they are teaching about freaking insects!! The same curriculum is in use for a long ass time, so how do your expect it to meet an employer's current market needs? Americans curriculum keep changing and get in line with the modern society. So how do we expect to make innovations that are internationally recognized if we still rely on the same bullshit education system tailored by the colonizer to keep our knowledge at a minimum level as possible. Maybe it's time we admit that our problem as nation emanates from our educational system. That does not mean that I am trying to find an excuse for our problem in the typical blame game scenario, no! Our biggest problem as a nation is and will always be Ouru and his deputy LootAll meffi.😡😡😡😡😡

Cartels will kill this ideology haraka sana. Cartels wa book publishers na private schools
But of course cartels are always looking on ways to capitalize. Speaking if text books, men these American kids only use books well researched on by scholars and not just any other bullshit.

I don't know what you are talking about but American high school maths curriculum doesn't even teach basic things like statistics. In a world full of data and where data analysis skills are highly sought, Kenyan kids are better than their kids.

some algebra topics are elective. In Kenya you are taught everything, it's easy to pick up when in their universities as compared to them.

Basic geography where you know of continents and countries you still have most of them thinking Africa is a country.

There are too many examples but the American education system is outdated and not superior in any way, don't try to compare yourself to them as a yardstick

Personally am torn in between...for example my buddy has a kid...kid was born and raised pale states...at age 5 things zikakuwa ngumu and she had to send the kid to kenya so she can work.si you know single mother problems kule trump land. So this kids lands in kenya and has to be admitted to a school. Hapo ndio alijua hajui...kids his age walikuwa mbele sana kishule. Jamaa akafanywa interviews kadhaa za his age...hajui mbele wala nyuma. Watoto kenya wanaandika na kusoma this fella from usa only knows how to paint and play those tablet games....ilibidi arudi chini sana but hes catching up...mimi hu argue alot about this topic....only thing sikuelewa ni kwanini nilifanyishwa alot of subjects and topics which never apply to me even today. But system ilinikausha angalau

Why is America still the greatest country on earth then?
I think our education system is too overwhelming and irrelevant to some extent.
We tend to learn small bits of everything without mastering anything specific.
As an observation in my travels,I have noted the greatest economies i.e. USA and China their populace don’t really know or care much about stuff that happens in other countries that’s why their geography of the world is sketchy. They all care to know whatever field they work on and become a master of it and they seem to prosper and explains why these two countries lead in innovations.
When I contrast that with Europeans (Western Europe) they are knowledgeable about so much just like us back home.Guess it stems from the time they used to rule the world so they got to know literally every corner of the world.
I personally think we should lessen the burden on what our children learn and become more specialized.

Why dont try the same with Americans. Have a kid taken there and see whether they'll fit right in.

Dudes why are we talking like American is some third world poverty ridden country. A nation reflects exactly what they teach in school, if American education is pathetic as you niggas put it, then why are they a superpower leading in major innovations and inventions??

I think our understanding of being educated is weird/different.
We think knowing little bits of everything is a measure of how educated someone is.

They will fit in fine. Interact with pros fro their universities or organisations and you will realise the only difference between them and us is that they have easy access to capital for RD and startups
