673 new Covid-19 cases announced, five-month old baby is the youngest

Kenya has today announced 673 new Covid-19 a cases from a sample size of 8230 tested in the last 24 hours. This brings the total caseload in the country to 90,978.

The country has so far tested 960,394 samples since the first case was announced in March.

Out of the new cases, Nairobi county leads with 211 cases followed by Nakuru 113,
Kilifi 61, Busia 41, Migori 34, Bungoma 33, Mombasa 32, Kiambu 21, Kakamega 17, Nyeri 17, Nyamira 15, Meru 12, Kirinyaga 12, Kisumu 7, Kajiado 6, Lamu 5, Homabay 4, Taita Taveta 4, Laikipia 3, Machakos 3, Samburu 3, Turkana 3, Kericho 2, Kwale 2, Nyandarua 2, Garissa 2, Murang'a 2.

Embu, Kisii, Makueni, Uasin Gishu, Baringo and Siaya recorded single cases each.

In the last 24 hours, 14 patients have succumbed to the virus bringing total deaths to 1,582.

Fortunately, 325 patients have been discharged from various facilities in the country bringing total recoveries to 71, 579.
