A man who allegedly defiled his five-year-old daughter at Njuki-Ini village in Kirinyaga County is in police custody.
According to Gichugu Police Commander Anthony Mbogo, the 35-year-old suspect was arrested following a tip off from members of the public to the area assistant chief.
“After investigating we found out that the man was being protected by his wife,” Mbogo said.
The man was arrested on Thursday night and held at Kianyaga police station before he was arraigned at the Gichugu law courts Friday morning.
The court denied him bail pending hearing of the matter.
