hustler hacks: how to repair led bulbs

The economy is bad so we need to save money where you can, led bulbs are good because they consume less power and produce a decent amount of light but did you know that at the right conditions they can last long, the manufacturers don't want you to know this and want to keep you buying bulbs so that they can be in business. here are some instructions on how you can fix and extend the life of your led bulbs, first of all don't throw away the bulbs there are some electronic components in there that you can re use.

Separate the diffuser (top plastic part) from the bulb body, you can do so using a knife or screw driver

The bulb should be made up of multiple LEDs and usually it's one which is burnt out, this breaks the circuit and prevents power from reaching the other LEDs
so closing the circuit again should fix it. Below you can see that the one with the black dot is the one which is faulty,

Take a flat screw driver or knife and remove it, make sure to expose the contacts on the circuit board

Now using a soldering iron and some solder make a connection between the contacts by applying some solder on the gap between the two points

And you're done, it should work now, you can put the diffuser back on but for longer lifespan i suggest not to put it back, one of the reasons leds fail is due to overheating, if you operate them without the diffuser they run at a lower temperature and last longer. I'm experimenting on how i can cool it further with an old laptop heat sink, will report back.

Credits to some youtube videos on leds, also don't do this when the bulb is plugged in and on, AC is dangerous.

Incredible post 👏🏾

This is knowledge that wengine wetu would've never come to know. Najua wengine mtacheka but for all the 7 years I've been back living in Kenya, I didn't know that the coil mechanism of a hotshower can be replaced for a fraction cost of the entire shower head until last week when I needed a unit changed.

Wueh.. Had I known, I'd have saved a lot but si ni life.. Was so happy about that newfound knowledge hadi I ordered an extra one.
