I have always really hated this documentaries by whites exploring into isolated tribes exposing the peoples ignorance and poor lifestyle to make money off them online. A big tune they sing in this documentaries is how important it's to leave the tribe as they are, to not expose them to better lifestyles ,medications etc. At one point in the documentary a girl says she regrets getting ths lip modication which made her life difficult but the interviewer goes righ after saying how he would not want to live in a world without lip modifications. Although the people that are victimized by it wish they did not have the procedure he feels a need to see it for his own personal amusement as if they are zoo animals.
Do African governemnts have a moral obligation to put a stop to such horrible cultures? I mean we actively fight female genital mulilation because of it's harm, how less wrong are lip mutilations of young girls? They both are forced to girls by men and the victims lifestyles are greatly affected by both procedures. Should we allow fellow African to ignorantly live in such cruel lifestyles for the amusement of a few people. I personally feel we have a moral obligation to get each other out of ignorance and povery to a state of higher being.
