The good thing with TZ is that it is founded on family values....that alone beats Kenya 10 - 0. They will face the issue together and come out stronger. Hapa in Kenya we will only come out of this as divided as ever!

Right now nobody has proof that their methods are working or not, and if TZ turns out better in the long run, then they will have come out of this a stronger nation than Kenya. Only time will tell
 
People here a busy castigatting the government for lockdown. I think they want us to behave like Megafool. He believes that by failing to report the number of infections to WHO and censoring media, he will keep the word from leaking. In three weeks, he will have to shut down the internet because of the tragedy that will be there. I feel sad for Tanzanians. Imagine have 70 drivers testing positive in one day!
 
lockdown cannot last forever... its there to reduce number of infections at that crucial part of a pandemic whrn rate of infections is high... magufuli has gone the opposite direction...

You meant to say reduce the rate of infection? The number of infections will never reduce

What is the source of this story? I think his closing the border will also affect TZ. Does he want us to do what Rwanda had proposed (@Meria how is trucking working in RW?)

We castigate the govt for nonsensical thoughts. What is the govt procedure for reopening? Ama tutabaki ivo till a vaccine is found in the yr 3020? If their target is to flatten the curve, let them show the progres they made in the last 42 days sio uhii wa kufanya what they have been doing and expect different results

The strategy should to bring the number of new infections under control. Once we have reduced the communal spread, we can gradually open the economy. Countries that have the disease under control can then allow movement of people while insulating themselves from virus herders.

The government has been trying containment with contact tracing and isolation. I would say they are partially successful because at this stage the increase would have been geometric/exponential if the virus had been left to run its natural course.
What do you think they should be doing different?

Now this is what they need to clarify. Corona is here to stay, so what is the plan, wait to reduce the spread by how much? What is the current rate of spread and what is acceptable? For sure because there are no measures in place very soon we will start reporting 30 cases in a day and after that 40 cases per day, remember Nairobi is a city of 5million people who are now enclosed together....either they are waiting for all 5million to get infected and healed or they give people a plan
