They are tallying results for different polling stations. But I call this laziness/lack of organization/refusal to think. They'd have organized a central tallying center the way they do for the presidential debates

Media houses are in bizness, they know what their fans want to see and that is what they give. If the truth isn't palatable at the moment they can be shrewd and keep their viewers glued on the screen watching nonsense. Then the truth at the last minute and tell fans to lick their wounds and move on.
