Day Raila Got Blasted by His Father for Storming Event With Rowdy Goons.
Very few people can amass the courage of storming their father's event and ODM leader Raila Odinga clearly sounds like someone who can comfortably lead that minority group.
As detailed by a report by the Daily Nation, the former premier arrived at a rally that was taking place at City Stadium in Nairobi with a group of rowdy youth in 1992.
The publication further indicated that the premier was 46 years old at the time and his storming of Ford Kenya’s National Delegates Conference was how he cemented his place in national politics.
His father, Jaramogi Oginga Odinga, was addressing the delegation at the time.
“He was accompanied by a group of rowdy youth waving twigs and literally caused a moment of panic when his father was addressing the conference,” narrated veteran journalist Oscar Obonyo.
The move by Raila reportedly angered his father who stopped mid-speech and turned his address towards his son who was alongside the rowdy youth.
“Amolo, can you tell those boys to stop shouting,” he reprimanded his son.
Raila obliged to his father's directive but his message had already been passed to everyone that he was a newfound force in politics and that his abilities to move crowds was not to be questioned again.
His gamble paid off as that same year, he landed two elective posts, one as the Deputy Director of elections and later as the Member of Parliament for Lang'ata constituency through the Ford-Kenya ticket.
In the years that followed, Raila would change parties a record five times from Ford-Kenya, NDP, Kanu, National Rainbow Coalition, Liberal Democratic Party and ODM. He has, however, maintained ODM ever since 2007 to date 2022.
When Raila stormed with hired goons into Ford Kenya Delegate conference which his father was chairing and started heckling him almost putting everything to a stand still his father who was irritated told him "Amolo, shut up! and tell those youths to go away".
Unfortunately Raila insisted to be heard,in his mind Raila thought his father was too old to be the chairman and Ford Kenya leader and wanted to inherit him by force.
With that in mind his goons continued shouting his father down with all blessings from Raila and that's when Jaramogi got more furious and told Raila this.
"Amolo it's good that you have found it worth to disrupt this conference. Remember,I started this struggle since independence, way before you were even born. I have fought Kenyatta and Moi but never succeeded,am still struggling now to be the president of Kenya up to now.I want to tell you this,if your intention is to sink me down for a take over you will also struggle until your sunset days trying to be the president, and you will never BE",or maybe the ancestors have seen his worthy cause."
That's the curse passe that Raila had been struggling with, in short Raila will tomorrow be giving it a seventh stint to being President.
