This is the best explanation I have heard so far from a protagonist of the economic model.
This is embarrassing to watch. I am embarrassed on her behalf.

On its own it cannot work well, both models are needed in Kenya. current model of bottom down has in a way succeeded and also successfully alienated a large proportion of the population.@Meria @Denis Young @The.Black.Templar @Relic Hunter and the rest of DP supporters.
Kindly explain to us what this bottom up economic model is and how it will work in Kenya.
I've listened to the leaders, they are all explaining the WHAT. But none of them goes ahead to explain the HOW.
Let's have a discussion.
Perhaps you'd explain how they work badala ya hii inawork hii haitawork? On its own it cannot work well, both models are needed in Kenya. current model of bottom down has in a way succeeded and also successfully alienated a large proportion of the population.
Bottom up is more about stimulating, encouraging, training and nurturing small scale enterprises and individuals to produce goods and services and contribute to the economic growth. Despite Kenya having a young population most are not productive.
Hii ni upussy, si niliuliza wakati mlikuwa mnalia BBI aaaah eeeeh iiiiiih na @bigDog kwa nini zile vitu mzuri haziwezi pelekwa parliament kama HELB, tax break nikaambiwo uliza mkubwa aaaah ooooh eeeeeh na uliona parliament walikataa mambo ya reducing HELB interest rates, sembuse 7 year tax break ndio wangeadopt? On a serious note, no one ever answered this. So get off your high horse of being an objective voter and roll in the mudAnd this is why @Okiya and other like minded people want it explained before we can sign a social contract.
Sande, @The.Black.Templar has a PhD in this. The technique or practice of responding to an accusation or difficult question by making a counter-accusation or raising a different issue.
"the parliamentary hearing appeared to be an exercise in whataboutism"

Anyways waende Nyamakima na down town waone bottoms up ndio nini.... those printing shops, electrical shops na kadhalika....have you seen the cars the owner parks outside the shop? Zile vitu zote wanaletewo uptown with a crazy mark up hutoka mashimo za down town![]()

it is always about them, any other opinion is wrong, like this thread is already skewed and whatever anybody says or explains, it will still be wrong in their eyes without saying why it is wrong. Never question their choices but they are allowed to question other peoples choices.
In another thread I have asked what is preventing the government from devolving more funds,....karibu nitusiwe for questioning them

Yes, because there`s no way we can compete on scale with Chinese manf. Give that business man/ lady a conducive environment for them to do what they do best. Give the light industries a conducive environment for them to access their raw materials and do their manfMost of Nyamakima products are imported.
So you're saying bottom up economic model will be to increase importation?
Say what?On its own it cannot work well, both models are needed in Kenya. current model of bottom down has in a way succeeded and also successfully alienated a large proportion of the population.

I see you want to nitpick, so let`s do it.....why do countries protect some sectors of their economy and open up others? So in the same breadth, we should allow import sugar, rice, fish, maize and even labor because we cannot compete with other countries.
How does this spur economic growth?
I see you want to nit pick, so let`s do it.....why do countries protect some sectors of their economy and open up others?
And what goods do we mainly get from Nyamakima? And down town? Do we have the capacity to produce them effectively and competitively here locally? For light industries, do they produce mass market goods or they do it for a niche market?Nothing like nit picking. Just that I found it strange that you say we allow importation of the Nyamakima goods but at the same time want light industries to work. You think the light industries will survive?
