Mombasa road Traffic

So yesterday I had to do some visits to JKIA and Kitengela for work, start with the Airport, the next dusty kitengela and was done at 3. Took some lunch then at 3:50 hailed a cab back to kanairo. Thought by 5:30 would be at home based on the uber estimates since these days it's been like 98% accurate on Fare estimate and time. But it was never to be

By 8:30 pm we were yet to get to Gateway Mall. 9 pm, I ended the trip, got out and took a bike, funny thing past Syokimau there was literally no traffic, got home at 10:08 pm. My Uber Trip charged me 900 for time and only 300 for distance.

Why should users of that road suffer like that over a mere toll road yet even Waiyaki way is under construction for the same road and no one gets stuck? What's so hard for the government to force the contractor to create better diversions which people can use while they work on their road?

Some people will still come to this thread and blame Kenyans for some made-up reason

Of course we bonobi are to blame.
1) Tumezaana kama panya, thus clogging up the road.
2) We lack manners on the road. We overlap, change lanes with no due care of others, etc
All that contribute to increasing our travel time.

You realise all these professional bodies have negligible effect on how things are run in this republic; the Kenya federation of employers, COTU, Kenya association of manufacturers, allied workers Union, are all sleeping, they should have sued the contractor, Kenha and GOK for the lost man hours/fuel by the workers and transportation sector.

Yesterday was insane. I was in kitengela and left at 1:30pm..i got to syokimau at about 3:15pm. I knew people were in for it that evening.

I would like this road's name to be changed because it confuses me mara nyingi sana. Mombasa Road and Mombasa Highway should be names reserved for the longer section of the road from, say, Athi River to Miritini. When I hear Mombasa Road jam huwa najipata nikifikiria Maungu, Man Eaters, Emali,...., only to realise kumbe hatuongei kuhusu Mombasa Highway mbali tunaongea kuhusu huko Kenya!!!

there was a plan for greater eastern by pass from hapo lukenya hills to thika rd at by pass, nikama ilisahaulika., maybe next administration will pick it up.
